Our Story

Founded in July 2025, House of Comfort™ began as an act of healing.

In a season of rebuilding, founder Comfort Sakoma started pouring candles at her kitchen counter — not as a business, but as therapy. Every fragrance became a form of expression: humor in hardship, peace in chaos, beauty in the everyday.

What started with wax and wicks quickly evolved into a philosophy — that luxury isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Every House of Comfort™ candle is a reminder to pause, laugh, and find joy in the simple things.

From witty names that make you smile (“I’ll Clean It Tomorrow”) to a scent throw you can smell before you reach the door, each creation celebrates real life — unfiltered, evolving, and worth romanticizing.

Today, House of Comfort™ stands as a love letter to women who are still becoming — proof that even the messiest moments can smell like grace.

How Our Products Got Their Names

The idea to name our candles and wax melts the way we do didn’t come from a marketing meeting — it came from real life.

In the early days of House of Comfort™, Comfort Sakoma was juggling motherhood, healing, and entrepreneurship all at once. The brand began with scents, but the names came from the moments in between: the exhausted laughter after cleaning at midnight, the quiet defiance of choosing rest, the realization that growth can be messy and beautiful all at once.

When she poured her first few candles, she started writing what she felt on each one — little confessions that made her laugh. “I’ll Clean It Tomorrow.” “If It Requires a Bra, I’m Not Coming.” “This Season Changed Me.”

Those phrases stuck because they were honest. They were the stories behind the scent.

And that’s how a candle company became something more — a mirror for the women who light them.
